Work on Teggs Nose

United Utilities will be undertaking work to the Dam Head at Teggs Nose Reservoir.

The work will involve the building of a new 1.2m high wall along the Dam Head and the return into the car park as well as work on a Debris Barrier in front of the main overspill. There will also be a re-surfacing of the Dam Head roadway with tarmac.

The work is expected to finish before Christmas and will result in a temporary re-route of the footpath across the Dam Head and a closure of Holehouse Lane to traffic from the August Bank Holiday. There will be no access to the High Bank from the car park during this period. Access to the water will have to be on foot via Bottoms Reservoir or Holehouse Lane. Fishing from the High Bank may be possible via access along the waters edge (at a low level during works) but if building work is in progress permission should be requested. Fishing from the gate on the Roadside Bank to the far end of the reservoir will not be restricted.

Please do not attempt to approach the reservoir in a vehicle via Holehouse Lane whilst the ‘Road Closed’ signs are in place.
